Are you a filmmaker looking to break into the business and make a splash with your first film? What steps do you need to take to find the money to make it and to get it seen once it’s complete? Fresh from premiering their new film The Alchemist Cookbook at SXSW, MSU Artists in Residence Joel Potrykus and Ashley Young will speak to students about the changing indie film business— festival strategies, how to find funding, working with sales agents, and more. With special guests Eric Kohn (senior editor of Indiewire) and Lane Kneedler (head programmer at the AFI Fest) answering questions via Skype. This event is a can’t miss for filmmakers.
