UNDERGRADUATE MINOR IN FILM STUDIES

Open to all majors, this twenty-credit minor in film theory, history, and criticism also offers students opportunities to take classes in screenwriting. Students must complete a minimum of 20 credits from the following:

1. The following courses (5 credits):

FLM 200: Film Collective (1 cr.)
FLM 230: Introduction to Film Studies (4 cr.)

2. One of the following courses (3 credits):

FLM 300: History of Film to Midcentury (3 cr.)
FLM 301: History of Film after Midcentury (3 cr.)

3. One of the following courses (3 credits):

FLM 380: Classical Film and Media Theory (3 cr.)
FLM 381: Contemporary Film and Media Theory (3 cr.)

4. Any 400-level FLM course (3 cr.)

5. At least two of the following courses (minimum 6 credits):
